Itinerary April 17-19
Dear Sigma Phi Epsilon Alumni,
My name is Steve Hepner and I’m in charge of Alumni Relations for the Cal Tau
Chapter. Our chapter has been operating without an AVC Board for over a decade
and a half and just set one up 2 years ago. The first two boards have been young
(a year or two out of college) and half of them live in the Bay Area or further
away. Because of this, communication and involvement has been tough. I’m sure
there are alumni out there willing to help but don’t know how to get involved.
This is where we need your help.
We are holding an Alumni Interest Weekend over Cal Poly’s Open House, the
Saturday and Sunday of April 18th and 19th. Here we will be hosting dinner on
Saturday followed by an AVC interest brunch on Sunday. At the dinner on Saturday
we will be giving a presentation updating everyone on all our success over the
past few years. There are also more fun events like Cal Poly’s Open House during
the day on Saturday (we have a booth with tri-tip), then Bar Golf (themed pub
crawl) that night following dinner. Also for anyone in town early, we will host
a beer pong tournament Friday night at the chapter house (rides provided if
needed). Full itinerary attached.
The main purpose of the weekend is to generate interest and inform you of
opportunities to get involved and volunteer on our chapter’s AVC board. Our
Regional Director will be joining us to help present the positions available and
expectations for each. There are many chair positions that can easily be run
from a remote location and still be very effective.
If the other events don’t interest you, I only ask that you make the drive
Sunday morning and attend our AVC interest brunch. The venue is very nice and
the food is good. Listen to our presentation and see if you can make a
difference for one of the largest and more distinguish chapters in the Western
Region.
I apologize for the short notice, but I think we can make this happen. The next
step is you getting in contact with me. Please send me an email with your name,
phone number and a good time to reach you or call me directly any time on
Tuesdays or Thursdays through Sundays. Or, just write me an email confirming
which events you will be attending (again, itinerary attached).
Thank you for the consideration,
HHF,
Steve Hepner Cell: 925-487-7048
