Graduated Brothers of Sig Ep,
Our chapter alumni base has long-awaited the day in which
we can finally become strong enough to provide a platform of support for our
undergraduates. That time feels more and more like it is just around the
corner. This year has been focused on the integration and organization of the
alumni base in order to establish a sustainable network for years to come.
The AVC Board of Trustees is required to meet once a year,
Memorial Day Weekend (May 22-24), which can be looked foreword to as the
chapter’s Alumni Weekend. This year, we will also be hosting an Alumni Interest
weekend over Cal Poly’s Open House Weekend (April 16-18).
Alumni Interest Weekend came about as our Chapter Counselor
(Jadd Martinez) and Chapter President (Steve Hepner) are spearheading a push to
involve more local and regional alumni. Steve is working to bring in Sig Ep's
regional leadership to help guide the discussions. The bottom line is that our
Alumni Volunteer Corporation is very young and we need help to get this up and
running. Our hope is that both of these events will provide forums for us to
share ideas and bring together the skill sets necessary to grow and mature the
AVC.
We will be working with the Chapter to plan events for both
weekends. If anyone would like to get involved in the event planning, please
contact Steve Hepner directly at shepner@calpoly.edu.
I am looking forward to seeing everyone in the coming
months!
HFF,

In the spirit of giving back to the organization that gave so much to so many of us, donations can be made using the PayPal link below. The AVC hopes to be able to use these donations to better serve the Chapter by potentially providing scholarships, leadership retreats, seminars, furnishings, appliances, etc. One day we
hope to realize our long-term dream of owning the 280 California property.
